OOPS

Okay, so I thought I was so smart and had this all figured out. I broke up my today's postings into 2 different posts. Then I thought......in order to make the first post first, I'll need to post it second. (Thinking that the posts were chronological). But, guess not. So, the 2nd post is first and the first post is second. Confuse anyone yet??? So read "Catching up" first.....and then skip back up to the top. OOPS
Another sweet moment. Nothing like goofy time while trying to read the scriptures. I think it is so cute to see Tyson's face as he's looking over at his daddy. He's such a copy cat these days.....and he wanted to do exactly what dad was doing. (my letter "d" is sticking on my laptop....so if you see any "d's" missing as I write, you'll know why)
Always posing. Kyle and Braden finished up 2nd grade and Kindergarten at the end of May. I think they had like 3 different days of partying. This day was pajama day for Braden and "water" day for Kyle. Braden made his visor. You can't see the top, but it has his name on it. I always get a kick out of Kyle's poses. We've been at an LDS private school the last 3 years, but this next year we are going Public. (we meaning my kids) I feel like it is the right thing to do, but that doesn't mean it is easy. I am scared sick. I know........everyone else's kids have survived public school......mine will too, right? Any words of advice?
Kyle is our early riser. He is always up before Emmet and me. This is a 6am shot of the birds on the roof, taken by yours truly.....KYLE. I found like 15 different bird shots on my camera. There's no better time for a little photography than first thing in the morning.
Audrey's favorite position with Dad.
What can I say. Isn't she cute? I am having so much fun with bows an bracelets!!! She's 4 months old now! Funny story. On Sunday I put her in a purple dress. Kyle overheard Emmet say she looked like a plum. So, as we were getting in the car to go to church Kyle leaned over and started cooing and talking to Audrey. I heard him say, "You're such a cute FAT plumb." (Don't tell her that when she's older). She is a chunk!

Catching Up

Since I'm so far behind on this blogging stuff, I feel like I need to go back and review some of the past months. I did that a little when I posted Kyle's Baptism and Audrey's Blessing (both in March). I'm going to do a little more of that. I love seeing pictures on other people's blogs.....so I'm going to try to put lots of pics on mine. I think it makes the storytelling more fun. (= Here I go.......

Kyle started scouts in March an had his very first pinewood derby soon after. Emmet was so great with him. He let Kyle draw out and design exactly how he wanted his car to be. Emmet cut it, and Kyle did the rest. Sand, paint, glue on weights. (The die hard derby-ists use some special powdered weight stuff.......we used money). I was sitting back biting my lip.....trying to hard not to jump in. I had to calm my "competitive" nature of wanting Kyle's to be the fastest and coolest car at the derby. Good thing Emmet had his head on straight. And good thing I kept my mouth shut. Kyle was so proud of that car.....and I was so proud of him. He got the award for the "most expensive looking" car. (And.....his was the fastest "wolf" car) GO KYLE!!!!
Dallin graduated from his 1st year of preschool. His teacher went all out and had the cutest end of the year program. The kids had all sorts of props to help them sing their songs. In this one, Dallin got to wear BRIGHT PINK sunglasses. For any of you that know Dallin (rough and tough and not a bit girly).......seeing him in Pink made me laugh!
Dallin's teacher even got them all mini-cap an gowns. So cute! I tried to snap a picture.....but unfortunately, this is the best one I got. (No he is not in the prayer position) I just happened to catch him closing his eyes. (=

This was a very humbling day for me. There are so many times since Audrey has been born that I have felt so overwhelmed. And, when you are overwhelmed, you don't always stop and enjoy the sweet moments. Dallin's teacher put together a slide-show presentation that played to the country song "Let them be Little." (I don't remember the singer, but if you haven't heard it......look it up!!! It is awesome). As I saw Dallin's pictures flashing up there to that song, it made me stop and enjoy that sweet moment. And a sweet moment it was!!!

Kyle's Baptism

Kyle's baptism was the same weekend as Audrey's blessing. Two wonderful events in one weekend. It was awesome! It was so wonderful to have our family here to share it with us. I can't believe Kyle is already 8. I'm so proud of him!

Blessing

3rd times the charm, I hope. I called my sister and asked her how to post pictures. My internet explorer keeps bumping me off just about the time I finish typing and get ready to post. So, hopefully I can do this quickly before it happens again. I'm posting a picture of Audrey's blessing dress. While I was making it I considered making others and selling them. But, once I got into it, it took too long.....so I changed my mind. What am I thinking anyways, I don't have time to start a side job. Heather, this one's for you. I don't think you've ever seen her dress.

To Conform or not to Conform

Okay, so after many years of not being a blogger......I have finally conformed to the modern ways of communication. My sister and many friends have been trying to get me to start a blog for I don't know how long. I have been resistant. I hardly even have time to keep up on my e-mail, let alone update a monthly blog (or weekly, or daily?). So, I begin this blog with no promises as to how often I may update it. If it is as addicting as people tell me it is, maybe this will become my new hobby. And if so, I may have to stay up after hours, or even rise before the sun rises.....to commit to my new blogging lifestyle. As my MiaMaids would say, I have just joined "The Old People's Myspace."
